Savory steamed egg custard is among the simplest food to make, and I count this as one of the best comfort food 🙂 This tastes so subtle and the addition of nutty sesame oil and crunchy freshly sliced scallions is just perfect with the silky smooth custard, especially when it is still piping hot straight out from the steamer, so… good. ♥
- 2 eggs
- 250 ml water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ scallion, thinly sliced
- Prepare a steamer.
- Whisk together egg, water, and salt. Strain this mixture into a bowl, and cover with aluminum foil. Steam for 20 minutes.
- Serve the egg custard piping hot with sesame oil and thinly sliced scallion.
