Perkedel Tahu - Tofu Fritters
Another take on the ever present perkedel in Indonesia, this time with tofu as the main ingredient.
Perkedel Tahu - Tofu Fritters
Ingredients
- 600 gr firm white tofu
- 2 egg
- 2 tablespoon finely chopped scallion
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoon salt
- enough oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Drain the tofu, mashed, and add the rest of the ingredients, except oil, and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into 20 portions and shape into patties.
- Prepare enough oil in a pot for deep frying. When the oil reach about 170 Celcius (340 Fahrenheit), deep fry the tofu patties until golden brown.

Hi, Wow, how did you shape these so they came out almost looking like cookies? I've been looking for some new ways to use tofu-my family and I are living in China's Sichuan province, and even though I love that Sichuan peppercorn, some days its nice to have a different flavor... What do you typically serve these with? Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Christine, I usually start by making a roundish ball, then flatten with my palm into a patty shape just like making a burger patty. I hope it helps :)
